Cover-up tattoos are one of the most technically challenging types of work. The artist must design a new piece that is dark enough and large enough to obscure the old tattoo, while still being something the client will love for years to come. Our artists have extensive experience with cover-ups across all styles and skin tones.
The best cover-ups don't look like cover-ups — they look like intentional, well-designed tattoos that happen to be placed where an old piece used to be. Our artists take the time to design cover-ups that work with the existing ink rather than fighting against it, using strategic placement of dark elements, color, and shading to neutralize the old tattoo.
We offer free cover-up consultations at both Austin locations. Bring photos of your existing tattoo and any ideas you have for the new design. Our artists will assess the existing ink and recommend the best approach — whether that's a direct cover-up, a rework, or a combination of laser fading and tattooing.
Walk-ins welcome for cover-up consultations. Appointments required for the actual cover-up work.

Most tattoos can be covered up, though very dark or heavily saturated pieces may benefit from laser fading first. Our artists will assess your specific tattoo during a free consultation.
Cover-up pricing depends on the size and darkness of the existing tattoo and the complexity of the new design. Contact us for a consultation and quote.
Not always — but for very dark or dense tattoos, a few laser sessions can significantly improve the cover-up result. Our artists will advise you during your consultation.
